Therapeutic
Swedish Massage
A full-body massage using long, gliding stokes of moderate pressure.
This technique is more generalized than deep tissue, the goal being
improved circulation and relaxation rather than specific muscle
tension. You will leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.
Deep
Tissue Massage
A focused session that targets your particular area of tension and
strain using moderate pressure appropriate to your comfort level.
This technique is not forced or painful but rather works around and
through specific structures to access the deeper layers of
musculature. A Deep Tissue session is not a full-body treatment.
Examples of popular Deep Tissue sessions include The Back, The Neck
and Shoulders, The Forearm or The Feet.
Aromatherapy
Massage
Using 100% pure
Essential Oils, distilled from the flowers, bark and roots of
plants, you and your therapist will consult prior to the session and
choose a selection of oils. Whether you choose an oil based on its
pleasing scent, or its energetic and subtle healing properties
(stimulating, relaxing, balancing, etc...), the addition of
aromatherapy will enhance any session. Aromatherapy massage is
tailored to you and your needs, and may include therapeutic swedish,
deep tissue or myofascial techniques.
Myofascial Integration
A slow, mindful approach using light to deep pressure appropriate to
your comfort level and determined by the response of your tissue.
The goal of Myofascial Integration is to relieve areas of binding
and constriction within your fascia, the connective tissue that runs
through and around every structure of your body. This technique is
ideal for those interested in improved posture and a sense of
connectedness with the body.
Prenatal
Massage
A
tailored session that uses Swedish and Myofascial Integration and can
help reduce the aches and pains of pregnancy, increase circulation,
improve digestion, improve skin elasticity that can help reduce
stretch marks and promotes relaxation by lessening anxiety. Please
bring written permission from your doctor; massage during gestation
is for women experiencing a normal pregnancy. Click HERE

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork using acupressure and
stretches to balance the energy of the body. It activates the body's
self-healing ability and strengthens the immune system. Shiatsu is
energizing, yet deeply relaxing. (No massage oil is used in this
treatment and shiatsu is performed with the recipient wearing loose
comfortable clothing).
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation
that also promotes healing.
It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea
that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what
causes us to be alive. Reiki treats the whole person including body,
emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that
include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Thai-Yoga
Massage (Nuad Boram) is often
referred to as “assisted yoga”. Your session will be performed
on the massage table. You will wear loose-fitting or stretchy
clothing that allows your body to move freely. No oils are used.
The techniques work beneath the surface of the body, to
effect the deeper layers of muscle, skeleton and spirit.
Flowing, rhythmic
compressions using the hands, palms, arms, knees and feet are
blended with exotic asanas (stretching positions) and breath control
to effectively produce a surrendering release.
Raindrop
Therapy
Raindrop
Therapy combines aromatherapy, reflexology and massage to create
healing and cleansing through structural and electrical alignment to
the body. The purpose of the therapy is to bring total balance,
harmony, and body wellness - mental, physical, and emotional.
Raindrop Therapy uses a sequence of nine essential oils that are
dropped gently on the spine and then lightly massaged in using
various techniques. The practitioner dispenses the oils along the
client's spine like little drops of rain from a height of about six
inches. The oils are gently brushed up the spine and lightly
massaged over the rest of the back for a deep sense of relaxation
and wellness.
Balinese
Massage is a meditative massage
combining Hindu, Chinese and European influences to create a
relaxing, rhythmic and energizing experience enhanced with fragrant
oils to hydrate the skin and nurture the soul. This medium to deep
pressure massage stimulates the flow of blood, oxygen and energy
around your body, to bring deep relaxation and wellness.
Hot
Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is an exotic specialty treatment that uses
smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock
that absorbs and retains heat well. The therapist uses traditional
strokes of Swedish massage while holding a heated stone. The
therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along
your spine, or in the palms of your hand, or even between your toes
to improve the flow of energy in your body. It is a deeply soothing,
relaxing form of massage as the heated stones helps tight muscles
release.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture
is an ancient system of healing, practiced in China and other
Eastern countries for thousands of years, where it has been used to
restore and maintain health and well-being. This treatment modality
involves fine needles inserted into particular points on the
“meridians” of Qi (channels of energy in the body). This is
believed to have neurophysiologic effects which decrease pain and
promote healing by balancing Qi. Acupuncture can be used to treat a
wide range of conditions from chronic fatigue and stress-related
syndromes, to high blood pressure, migraines, skin disorders,
irritable bowel syndrome, depression, PMS, facial toning, scars and
allergies, as well as pain and musculoskeletal disorders of all
varieties.
Reflexology
Reflexology
uses skillful pressure on specific points in the feet to help
achieve predictable positive change in specific areas elsewhere in
the body. The soles of our feet have over 7,000 nerve endings that
make them quite sensitive and responsive to the sensory input of
reflexology. When a reflexologist slowly and intentionally works
your feet, your whole body relaxes, allowing tension and pain to
subside.
You shouldn't get a massage if you have a fever, infections,
inflammation, osteoporosis and other medical conditions. If you have
any questions about whether a massage would be right for you because
of an existing medical condition, please ask to speak to your doctor
before you make your appointment.
